As Musk rails at Instagram, Zuckerberg claims that Threads crossed 5 million signups in the first four hours

Meta's new "Threads" app saw over 5 million users sign up within the first four hours of its launch, indicating that the Instagram offshoot may pose a threat to Twitter, which has been plagued by technical glitches and unpopular changes. The app allows users to sign up, populate profiles, and follow lists using their Instagram account, unlike other Twitter rivals like Mastodon or BlueSky. Twitter CEO Elon Musk criticized the app, claiming it was a copy-paste of Twitter's design. Musk also compared it to being attacked by strangers on Twitter.
