The Philippines secured their fourth World Cup of Pool 9-ball
Championship title for the record fourth time, defeating Germany in the
final 11-7. The Filipino team of Johann Chua and James Aranas made a
remarkable 11-7 comeback, winning the next eight frames and narrowing
the gap to 9-7. Chua's critical 8-ball shot in the 17th rack and another
magnificent performance in the final rack helped break the tie in
overall World Cup of Pool title victories. This victory marked the
Philippines' fourth overall title against China's three teams, following
the 2006 and 2009 triumphs of Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante, and
the 2013 triumph of Dennis Orcollo and Lee Van Corteza.
